We've had this popular full length coat in our collection for a few years now, and it's set to stay...
The Outback coat has taken it design cues from our country range, featuring a full plaid lining, as well as a removable cape and hood. We chose 6 nice colour options, and given it a generous fit to allow you to wear a layer underneath.
These type of coats are also referred to as 'Drover Coats' or 'Duster Coats' and were originally designed for protection against the elements when horse riding. Don't worry if you don't have a horse though, they are perfectly capable as a fashionable overcoat when spending time outside on a rainy day. You can find the men's version, the Stockman coat in our store too...
Our heritage and speciality was waterproof fabrics, so when we made the Outback, we made sure that it was going to withstand a downpour. Being full length, it does just that, without the need for overtrousers.

You'll see a review of our Cocona / Merino socks on page 80. Here's a taster:
"Cocona is a material that uses carbon particles derived from the husks of Coconuts, whose properties include very fast evaporation of moisture and also odour management"
We've been acknowledged as having the first Cocona /Merino sock to the market, which means that you're investing in some pioneering technology for your feet...
Be sure to see their review of the Target Dry Venture Jacket on page 74 too!
We've enjoyed some great technical fabrics over the years, but we're pretty excited about our unique Cocona / Merino wool Hiking Socks...
Cocona® is blended into the yarn of all our socks, and has been shown to increase breathability between 50 and 250%. Your feet will be drier over a longer distance when you've taken to the hills, helping to reduce the likelyhood of blisters. Cocona itself is naturally derived from Coconut Husk, leaving a low ecological footprint (excuse the pun)...
Merino wool is one of the softest and durable out there, and it's used in our socks to retain warmth. It's softness allows it to be used next to the skin as a base layer, so don't worry about having itchy feet!
We tailor-make our socks for Men and Ladies, with two colour and weight options.
HikeMid is a midweight hiking sock, most suitable for day or weekend expeditions. This sock will withstand Duke of Edinburgh multi-day hikes, or a walking holiday to the Cairngorms.
WalkLite is a lightweight walking sock that is best suited to warmer conditions. It's ultra-breathable top panel ensures that you're feet remain as cool and dry as possible. Perfect for a week's trail walking in Spain.
When it comes to packaway jackets that are both waterproof and breathable, there's either a shortage of colours, sizes, or they are just too plain expensive. That Gore-Tex stuff tends to do that...
Well, we've been creating packaway jackets for 25 years now, and have learned a thing of two about keeping dry. Our prices have always been kept very reasonable across our range of waterproof clothing, we've also maximised the potential of the fabric as well as making the fit as perfect as we can.
What's resulted is our Mac in a Sac Jackets. A fully waterproof jacket that stores into it's own bag (handy) so that you have room in your backpack when it's not raining! Weighing only around 300g, it has a concealed hood in the collar, zipped pockets and fully taped seams.
